There are a multitude of Linux options out there, Bill.
Probably the most popular one amongst The Funsters in Linux Mint.
Even within that there are various distribution.
Probably the most "Windows" like is Mint Cinnamon - https://www.linuxmint.com/download.php

I have to admit I install the cinnamon version then install xfce so I get some of the cinnamon goodness

unfortunately i dont think i can get through any time soon and the lap top cant cope any more and keeps crashing on XP which is not a good thing during jays GCSE homework

cinnamon version downloading now as long as i get rid of micosoft rip off i will be happy

I have 3 machines running this linux. It's hard to tell the difference to Windows in use but definitely no grief. The machine I'm using is of course Mint.
