I think its just me but did anyone else notice, as they wandered up and down the avenues at the Lincoln Motorhome show, the extraordinary number of dogs and people in motorised wheel chairs they had to dodge to avoid being run over by geriatric speedsters or tripped over by uncontrolled dogs on long leads wandering all over the place.

I noticed one woman in particular with a dog on an extending 'ribbon' type lead, she was happily walking around and browsing but letting her little darling wander all over, constantly going from one side of the lane to the other - when I saw her a second time I said casually "Don't you think it would be better to keep 'him' on a short lead round the stalls" ... to which she nodded and quickly gathered up his lead ... I assume she just 'didn't think about it' for herself!

We have 2 sets of leads for our dogs, short and extending ones, each type used as appropriate. As for scooters, didn't notice any more than usual.

No, we didn't, but as dog owners we are maybe more tolerant of that half of your problem

what really offended me was the dog owner who had allowed their dog to have a dump on the walkway, then left it

properly offended, by the time we got to it there was not enough left in one piece to pick up, but some of it must have ended up inside display MH's

truly disgusting

as for your mobility scooter issue, we do see / notice some bad attitude, but genuinely did not see any at Lincoln and I am less tolerant than many :D, must have timed our visit better

So do I but I hope I manage to be a little more understanding of people around me than the small minority of thoughtless motor scooter users.
Driving two abreast up an avenue accompanied on either side by their able bodied partners occasionally made for pedestrian chaos especially if accompanied by the family pet.

Maybe to give the dogs a change of scene? We don't take ours round as a rule but our little Tazzy loves to say hello to people and other dogs occasionally (it's good socialisation for her) but not for more than an hour later in the day when it's quieter, the other two are more than happy to slob out in our camper!

We went back for lunch and afterwards took the dogs for a good romp round the edge of the field (yes we did clean up the doo-doo), but then Tazzy refused point blank to go back in ... after chasing her round and round the vans, much to the bemusement of others sitting out having their lunch, I finally managed to collar her with the aid of another MHer who fussed her to keep her still. Once back in the van those big pleading eyes were staring up at me ... she was telepathically saying "take me with you" so we did ... and she really enjoyed herself. Needless to say she was on a normal short type lead!

We did see some people with dogs in buggies (poorly or old ones) and the chap with the large wooden trailer with his dogs in ... don't quite understand that as it must've been a pain to take round!

It doesn't upset or bother me one bit but yes I thought there was a lot of both. I assumed a lot of motorhomes have chosen this easy of holydaying as it suits them. You can't go cruising or jet of to far away places with your dogs. Must have been more dogs than children Paris is like that and used to have terrible dog fouling issues.

We went on our first cruise earlier this year, and whilst we really enjoyed it, it was nearly spoiled by the number of people on board using mobility scooters. Not only was getting around the ship sometimes like walking in the middle of the road but quite a high proportion of the drivers were really rude, pushing past you to get into lifts first and driving to the front of the queues without as much as a please or thank you, caring not a jot if they barged you out of the way. I don't understand this attitude. Why do they think they have total right of way?

I didn't think there were as many dogs at Lincoln as there was at Malvern tbh.

The issue of mobility scooters is something that will need to be addressed, not sure how. My Dad uses one and it has transformed his world as he is unable to walk. However it has taken years of me nagging to get him to appreciate the affect on other people ie speeding, weaving in and out of them and barging in front.

Sadly I think age has something to do with it as well as he's got really selfish as time has gone on:( And yes, he's been in a cruise with his too.

Motorhomes = old people.

Old people = scooters.

That's the way it is....gives them the freedom to roam and why not i say.

Do what we do. ..don't go to shows... If it bothers....

Waste of money anyhow imo far more laughs to be had elsewhere and keep your credit card safe

But each to their own

Queues?? Trouble getting around the ship?? Who did you go with, 'Dunkirk Tours'? Choose a more refined company next time you cruise. If your going to spend a lot of dough, choose a decent firm, (and research the ship before you book). Might cost a few bob more, but well worth the extra to get a little comfort!. (y)(y)

P&O, Oceania actually. Cost a lot of money. Most people on the ship were older or considerably older than us (we are 60), and getting around the ship at times was quite slow, involving queues at certain times. Possibly our fault for choosing a "Strictly Come Dancing" cruise which obviously appeals to the older generations?

Just think of all the tons of pollution spewed into the air by all the gas guzzling motorhomes who went there.

A few dog poos pale into significance.
