Looking for a good stop over on way to annecy, but complicated by timings as have to pick daughter up from Eurostar Lille at 11 am. Ideally want to get as far south as possible so can arrive at annecy campsite early afternoon.
Discovered lac du der at Easter (but only after booking in campsite) and quite fancy that, but seems to be 3 aires there, - which one to go for and any problems with a mid afternoon arrival, I know aires get busy at this time of year.
Froncles also seems good on reading.
Have french passion as well, - perhaps Dijon area?
Should add will have 2 young adults ( children really in mind) with us for this leg so ideally looking for stopover we can either go out to supper ( have bikes) or BBQ/ spread outside as will be a wee bit cramped in the m/home
    Looking forward to funster recommendations

Froncles is a beautiful little aire
    Latitude : (Nord) 48.29954° Décimaux ou 48° 17′ 58.344′′
    Longitude :(Est) 005.15246° Décimaux ou 005° 9′ 8.856′′
I would also recommend Giffaumont Champaubert on the Lac de Der. Lots of room but busy in summer:
    Latitude : (Nord) 48.5688° Décimaux ou 48° 34′ 7′′
    Longitude : (Est) 4.70294° Décimaux ou 4° 42′ 10′′

Yes, Froncles is a beautiful,. popular little aire, free but you pay for water/electricity.
    There are also:
    Vieville
    Latitude : (Nord) 48.23805° Décimaux ou 48° 14′ 16′′
    Longitude : (Est) 5.12966° Décimaux ou 5° 7′ 46′′

    Joinville
    Latitude : (Nord) 48.44583° Décimaux ou 48° 26′ 44′′
    Longitude : (Est) 5.15° Décimaux ou 5° 9′ 1′′

    Chaumont
    Latitude : (Nord) 48.11833° Décimaux ou 48° 7′ 5′′
    Longitude : (Est) 5.15416° Décimaux ou 5° 9′ 14′′

All of the are off the N67 if you are avoiding toll roads.
You will also be competing with all the northern europeans heading down south!!

Should be about a 6h drive to Annecy from Froncles.
We used to stop overnight at Giffaumont Champaubert travelling to/from Geneva. Had time to do a bit of sailing too!
