Off to France soon . My ducato based van doesn’t have adjustable lights . Recommendations for bending the headlights - just in case I get caught out in the dark ?

Got me power adaptor , hi vis jackets and breathalyser kit, my etape card, will get a range of hozelock adaptors - have I missed anything obvious (other than the wife :-)) ?

You guys are great , 1 set of Euro lights in my amazon basket

Euro light stick ons are great. Had mine for over 10 years, and about 5 vehicles. They also take up next to no room in the glove box ???

I stick mine in glove box just incase. As long as you have ya passports and money your be fine.

Think you have to carry a spare light bulb kit too ?

I use them stick on ones and pay no regard whatsoever as to how they should be fitted.

Stupid rule / law.

I don’t drive at night in France though. I try not to drive in France at all.

It’s 2 triangles in EU ain’t it?

Interesting to fit so many negative observations into one post

Avoid travelling at night. Enjoy the day.
I take some 'benders' with me in case I'm challenged, but have never needed to fit them.
I believe that the law is about dazzling others. You can reduce the risk of that by lowering your beam. If you avoid travelling at night, it all becomes academic.

TIP
Don't leave Eurolites on plastic headlamps for more than a few week as the adhesive will migrate into the plastic.

We have a Pilote. ...do you reckon we get dispensation even though it's not a left hooked? Might get some brownie points for buying french

Mines French with an Italian cab - im
More euro that a euro

In France it is accepted that if it is raining enough to require windscreen wipers then you should turn on your headlights to aid visibility.

Doing so without headlamp adapters can dazzle oncoming drivers.

Do you still need GB stickers if you have the GB euro part on the number plates?

When we bought our Carthago we were told that it had a flat beam and didn't need deflectors. Whether that is correct I don't know. We carry Eurolites, but I would have no idea where to fit them, if required. Like many others we like to be parked up before dark but that doesn't always work out.

first aid kit, not sure if needed for france but you've probably got one in the van anyway, along with fire extinguisher..

Not at present but, if we leave the EU, then they will be required thereafter.
I thought that but there's so much conflicting info out there. The AA are still saying you need breathalysers, even though you don't, so it makes you question everything.
As far as the lights go we have Hella 90mm projectors so apart from swapping the units to opposing sides I'm not sure what we can do other than lower the beam?
Never ever seen a foreign registered lorry over here with deflectors?
