I was unsure for how long the power would hold out without hookup?
Fully charged hookup 24hrs then 180 mile drive it lasted overnight on night setting then a 6mile drive to another site. By the following morning the battery was just about exhausted.
Note to self must find the time to fit the solar!

I have a Waeco CRX-50 fridge and a single 110ah cheap (it was fitted by the converter) leisure battery - no solar

I can go 3 days (2 nights) without a problem - battery coming up to 5 years old

I also have a diesel heater/hob which needs power, along with lights, tv, water pump, etc

This is what I do:

Fridge is connected directly to the leisure battery (fused) with appropriate cables - not going through a control panel

Turn fridge on set to max coldness whilst on EHU at home, for 12 hours before setting off

Fill with everything already cold from home fridge - including still frozen homemade ready meal about an hour before leaving (still on EHU)

Drive to destination (disconnect EHU first)

The first time I need to open the fridge, I turn it down to setting 2

Try not to open the door too much

Keep van cool inside if it's a warm day

Hope this helps

PS What do you use to charge your leisure battery?

Worth checking what charge you are actually getting to your leisure battery while driving. My batteries are at the very rear of my vehicle, and on checking with the fridge on 12v, the charge from the alternator is effectively zero. I have lots of solar so OK but driving does nothing to charge the batteries. A B2B would be useful.

Electroblok as factory installed with their version of a b2b but not managed to find where it is yet. The distructions says its there but not where. Cant get another batt under the pass/seat would have to fit 2nd about 1 meter away.
Maybe get a couple of gels if the solar dont fix it.

Have you checked under your travelling seats?
