Thanks, might need to replace our Tefal saucepans as they've had a lot of use (can't remember how long we've had them!).

We bought the French version of these about 5 years ago in Le Clerc supermarket. Still in good condition.

got the igenio ones for christmas, not even tried them yet. would have got these otherwise.

We bought a £1 frying pan in the pound shop. Won't last as long of course. Will see how it goes 😊
One use probably as they are so thin they burn stuff very easily ... :giggle:

Does the handle connect on and off easily? I'm thinking if you've got 2 on the go you'll have to change handles while hot.

Yes the handles are easily removable and don't get hot, we bought a second hand when in France (different make) so don't have an issue. The only thing you have to be care of is that when you have the handle on with nothing in the pan, especially the small one, it can tip over quite easily so best to put the contents in first then attach the handle.

They've also got these collapsible storage boxes that might be of interest.

Management asked if they would last as long as the pan set we have in the motorhome. We have had it forty years this July from our early camping days.

Saw a movie on Netflix called 'Dark Waters' true story about Du Pont. It said that everyone has Tefal in their bodies!

Yes saw it. Everyone in the world has a minute amount of PFOE chemical in their bodies😳. It also sells adverts and movies so there probably isn't too much to worry about. You've got to die of something anyway 👍😎

I bought a set of these pans for the van today from Lidls, reading the instructions it states 'The cookware is not dishwasher safe'. We haven't got a dishwasher in the van apart from me so not relevant but would be for home use.

I think I need to go visit a Lidl , thanks for the heads up. (y)

We have sets of both----
The handles get too hot at the pan and it damages the 'plastic"--- I have had to dismantle them and file off the distorted bits to allow the handles to un clamp.
Also the inside mechanism will corrode if completely dunked and left for too long--- again I have had to dismantle to fix-----------' we are very pleased with the pan sets ( and have recently bought a frying pan set from lidl) but just worth being aware of those two issues----------- in our opinion the expensive ones are better quality------- not much surprise there 😂😂--- but lidl ones are very good value😊😊

The wife left the handle on when it was on the pan on the gas ring, its melted the handle underneath to now the handle doesn't work.

Well despite all the negativity I've bought both sets today.(y)
From the comments above I have only one reservation and that is inadvertently melting the handle.

I am an avid fan of Keith Floyd infract I would go so far as to say I have modelled myself on him (well at least his knowledge of wine in recipes:cool:)
The problems really come to the fore with the realisation there are only so many ways you can cook egg and bacon but at least there is an infinite choice of wines to cook it in.

My dilemma is I have to keep nipping to the shop whilst it's frying to choose a different wine to cook it in (mainly because the wine I am sampling in order to decide if it will accompany the egg and bacon you understand, always seems to run out) which can leave the handles and sometimes the whole pan in danger of melting.

These don't come with lids? That seems a bit of a deal breaker for me. What do you Lidl-pan-fans do?
Karen

Are the ones from france not left hand drive. (Lifting). :roflmto:

We've had the Tefal ones for a few years and very happy with them.
We picked up a couple of sets of both yesterday but haven't opened them yet.
Think we might be returning but we'll see.
Downsides for us are no lids, only one handle with each set and are smaller than the Tefal's.

We bought the Lidl ones yesterday. They will replace the old (domestic) ones we have been using. Hopefully the old lids will fit.
