I’ve just received my Liber-t tag for the French motorway network and realise that it’s intended for classes 1,2 & 5. My A class weighs around 3400kg but it’s MGW is 3850kg. Can I still use it? What do other taggers do?

If your height is under 3m you will be class 2 when using tolls, if you use the lorry lanes 30km you don’t even have to stop.?
Look out now there could be a long debate on this subject could get through a lot of popcorn???

They would probably be weighing your Motorhome to see if it was overloaded - not to see if you were 'cheating' the Toll system.

Did they explain why you were weighed ?

As you say it was to see if we were overweight
Thankfully we were 200kg under

We got stopped and weighed at a toll booth in France in March
But was that to check if you were overweight for your plated maximum or overweight for the toll tag?
Very different things.

As you are still using the toll tag I assume it was the former or do you have a super expensive HGV type tag?
You can whisper the answer if you like. :)

Long enough
The Toll system and it's rules and regulations are private companies and of no concern to the Police.

Your vehicle being overweight or not having the correct documentation is their concern and they will stop you for any breaking of their rules and laws.
