I wonder if any one is able to clarify the criterium around LEZ stickers for Belgium, Holland and Germany. Is it possible to get 1 sticker for each country, the same as it is for France, or do I need stickers for each LEZ area that I may drive into. I have been researching on goggle but are no wiser.

Thanks
Derry

We have the French Crit air sticker, and recently got the German one also.
Like so many others, we had a few problems reducing the V5 doc to send over to The French Cit Air Site, this was resolved by taking a picture with our smartphone, and reducing it on that before sending to desk top.
I haven't heard of anyone getting/needing one for The Netherlands on here as yet so cannot comment as to requirement. But we have a Euro 6 diesel and its allowed into the low emission zones as far as I know with current legislation.
I suppose having your vehicle registered in these countries for emission status, makes it so much easier for them to trace your home address to send out speeding/parking fines also, but maybe I am just being too cynical?:whistle2::reel:

I really wish there was just one!

Each country has its own system

Netherlands - you don’t need one.
France - you may need a Crit Air depending on where you’re going
Germany - you are likely to need an Umweltplakette if you’re going through any cities.

Not sure about Belgium.

Graianan. Thanks. I have a Crit air sticker for France which I got last year. I've just ordered an LEZ sticker for Germany, and registered my vehicle for Antwerp. Reading all the bumph on line it appears you need to register for each town/city in Belgium separately. what a pain that is.

Yes, I started to google it at the weekend and gave up in disbelief ... so one tourist less in Brugge!

Re the French Crit Air, The 'yes there are UFO's out there' conspiracy theorist believe that if you are over 3.5t that the French Crit Air data base links into the Toll Road Paege data base. So if you are over 3.5t and at a booth it shows class 4 and you try to say class 2 camping car on the intercom. The computer say 'No" So if you are over 3.5 t and use the tolls you may not want to verify that you are over 3.5t on the Crit Air data base, remember big brother is watching????

Do you need to have the Crit Air registration...when you will not be needing it compared to driving on tolls.
Too have on too have, that is the question!!!!!

Never used one anywhere. Umwelt zones in Germany, clearly marked, just stay clear . Most are city centres only.

I would get the Umwelt Plakette(sticker) for Germany(only use the official site) its only a few Euros applies to cities but you never know when you may stray into the zone, as an example the Aire in Freiburg is inside the zone. If you found you needed a doctors or a hospital in a large town you would likely need to drive into one of these zones

The system for Belgium requires you to register your vehicle although each zone requires separate registration this is free and currently only operational for 2 cities. Brussels and Antwerp more cities will be added from 2020 There is a sticker for sale on some websites this is unnecessary the official site will tell you not to buy it.

Holland restrictions are mostly for trucks and buses. Motorhomes registered as M1 vehicles are currently exempt
