Hi Everyone
Quick question from a newbee - hope you can help.
Looking at levellers as we anticipate the arrival of our AS Fairford in a couple of weeks 🤞🏻
Is there a type or brand that we should be looking at - or are they basically all the same.
Thanks for your wisdom and experience!
Phil and Debbie

Are you talking about the drive-on type, or hydraulic, (attached to ‘van underside).?

I bought some Fiamma levelers about 10 years ago, they have been sufficient. Most campsite pitches I've been to have been close to level. Some sites, sometimes need you to level up from side to side rather than front to rear.

Check in "Classifieds" as levelling ramps come up for sale fairly regularly. Looks like there's about half a dozen on there just now.

We've got Milenco Quattros.

I got the yellow fiama ones with the van and bought milenco quatros, but dont bother using them much since i had the front suspension done, we wild camp and can usually get the van level enough, only used a fiamma under one front wheel twice in last 2 years

Get some scaffold planks cut up at an angle. 3 layers will give you 100mm approx.

you can stage the layers to give different levels..

just a thought!
That's what I have used but they are heavy and take up a fair bit of room. I have screwed a block to the back to act as a stop as well

The inflatable kind might be a convenient alternative, we have a set of Flat-Jack Camper Plus (about £220 for the pair) as well as a pair of 3-level Fiamma, we can combine as necessary if levelling of more than 2 wheels is required. Both sets lift about the same, 12-13cm max but the Flat-Jacks are a lot easier to use, however I suppose some might find them a bit wobbly when fully inflated.

I’ve had others but now have Milenco Quattro. Our van is 4t and the Milencos seem to cope quite well. They are high enough for our needs but not cheap.

Milenco Quattro 3, high enough to let you work under van if you need to 👍🏻 And strong enough to last years.

I’ve been using a pair of Fiamma for a while, but just don’t cut it on some sites, so just bought some milenco Quattro 3, the quality is second to none and great heigh, little bit more expensive and heavier than others but as a few people have said they are worth it.

Ours are 10 years old still going strong

Not sure what the obsession with levelling is all about. 10 weeks touring this summer and didnt even bother taking our milenco quattros with us........more payload for important stuff like beer!

Has anyone ever come across any foldable ramps? Always thought something could be fabricated from steel to save space?

For the moment I use old bits of scaffold planks with a bevel taken off, doesn't matter.if I drive off & leave them by accident!

Had my milenco ramps now for 12 years been a godsend at times still as new great bit of kit

Our Milenco Quattro 3s didn't last 6 months - 1650kg axle load on them so shouldn't break so soon. Don't bother with ramps anymore, just park where there is a bit of a slope to get the level somewhere near.
