Les Menuires over Christmas (1 Viewer)

We are planning on heading out to Les Menuires and staying on the aire from Boxing Day for a few days. Has anyone had experience of how busy it might be? We really don’t want to get up there for it to be full. (We are a little flexible either side of Christmas Day.) I expect New Year to be busy, but not too sure how busy these places are over Christmas. Any advice is much appreciated.

We were there last Xmas we got there on the 27th and there was room for maybe 3vans. At the moment the snow is falling well so people will be more spread out. Last year there was hardly any snow lower than about 1800m so Les Menuires was busy so you should be alright this year. If you are relying on getting EHU you will be lucky as not enough points for all you will have to be quick if someone leaves.

Hoping for a little more snow than that......or even a lot more!

We were also there last year arriving on the 29th. Aire was busy but nit full and we had no problems parking. There are also plenty of overflow spaces in the area if you are stuck.
Just be wary as we had our EHU cable stolen on the first night we were there which was a bit of a dampner

May be an idea for others to put a chain on it to something, such as the tow hitch if the length allows?

If it's full you can always head up the hill to Val Thorens and try there.
The aire is on Parking P2. It will be chilly though!

Alas, we have not made it this year. Work commitments have once again scuppered it.

Sorry for the delay in replying. We had a great rip again to Les Menuires. As everyone knows snow is falling by the lorry load in the alpes this year and road conditions are tough with chains mandatory most days. The aire iteslf is brilliant and we stayed for 5 nights over new years with space available everyday. Some vans had EHU but as it turned out we didn't . We ran our genny for about an hour a day and that was more than enough to keep us topped up. Unfortunately solar was not really an option due to the constant snow showers keeping it covered.
