Had one for 5 years many moons ago. Now starting again.
That's one hell of a chateau. Must have cost a fortune to restore back to the original but looks like a superb job was done.

Another one to go on the list. :) And it's only an hour away from our place in France. You never stop finding new places to see. Even after all this time. Thanks yet again.

My better half informs me that we have actually been to the village but didn't go to the chateau.

To be rectified next year. :D2

Raining this morning until mid afternoon, saw a little Aire at Tournon d'Agenais so stopped cooked a curry and watched the Grand Prix.

Flipping annoying how Radio 5 live commentary is ½ a lap behind the live race.

Well I think we are, crossed to Dieppe this morning not really sure where we are going but sort of fancy finishing off the trip down through Portugal we started last Oct/Nov.

First stop found a little gem of an Aire at Courville-Sur-Eure and it's the right price for a FLT.

Long drive today 9km to Beynac, at this rate we will never make Portugal.
Street cred back in tack. The UK could learn a lot from this village, cars have to pay to park Motorhomes FREE. :D

That much space could build a few hundred houses on there.

Now on a nice free Aire at St. Clar, looks like it used to be a municipal site. Had to park at the side of the site road as the only proper space left the trees were too low for us.

Just a thought...should you have your TV aerial's extended. I thought Aires were for parking not camping. Surely having your aerial extended is little different from having your table and chairs out you don't drive with the aerial extended.........Do you?

We are talking about France don’t forget.
To the French rules appear to be for guidance only.
When in Rome................... :D2
Richard
Guidance only......That's not how the new French speeding restrictions are being treated by French and British drivers.

It would appear that you haven’t driven in France in the last few months.
Last year and early this year most drivers seemed to be sticking to the new limits.
On this trip we have noticed many, including a large proportion of truck drivers, going back to their old ways.
On D and N roads many trucks are cruising at 86-87kph, just as before.

But Macron conceded the point & passed the limits back to each region as to whether they wanted to stay at 80kph or revert back to 90kph. Shambles really.

Intended to get a move on today, didn't happen, neither of us woke up until 9:30.
Only managed a 100 miles now in a park by Tartas nice country setting with a lake. A couple of French vans here, there are electric boxes with about a dozen outlets on th the lamposts, the French if course are plugged in I'm not that cheaky.

Dutch van just pulled in, I recognised the Hymer bumped into him about 4 times in Portugal last year.

Hate to correct posts but Prime Minister Edouard Philippe agreed to make the choice between a 90 km/h and a 80 km/h speed limit a local decision

I don’t think Macron lowers himself to think about speed limits, that’s what he has a Prime Minister for.

So have you it would appear Lenny, despite your obvious experience.

There are some delightful campsites to be found if you look.
Aires & Stellaplaz great for enroute stopover a lot being unkept carparks occasionally you come across purpose built with good facilities close to towns/villages but tend to have costs. It’s nice though to stay in a campsite and area for 3/4 days leave your table & chairs out and enjoy the facilities and area. But like all things in life you pays your money or don’t and make your choice.
