Another short trip as first grandchild due on 23rd Sept., and the boss is insisting on being back for the arrival.

I'm a grumpy old git I'd rather have a holiday than a baby puking over me.

Telling porkies as we are heading north at the moment parked up at Graverlines tonight. Heading up to Belgium as we decided to get an awning on the van and our dealer gave us a cracking price. Then we will follow the sun not got a clue to where we are going, that's the best bit about Motorhoming.

Nice one @Lenny HB. (y)

We are France bound on the 16.20 hrs train on Thursday, and apart from arriving in Calpe (Spain) on 4th Sept, we haven't a clue where we are headed for in between.

Safe travels. (y)

Jock & Rita. :)

Now in Leper/Ypres, Motorhomes now banned from the parking area alongside the canal by the Gate. Went to the new Aire too far out and full anyway. The car park by the canal by the old leisure centre had rather a lot if cars in it. So we are in the parking for the new sports centre just round the corner. A couple of vans in here, had a word with one he said busy time of year so police turn a blind eye. Only had one small beer in case we get moved on.
Funny how I didn't notice the no vehicles over 3.5t sign when I drove in.

A lot warmer a few miles inland, 26 when we arrived at 6 pm and now 21.5 at 9:30.

Ceremony more moving mid week when there are a lot less people there.

Average person farts 15 times a day, all I can say is I excell in that department, one of the few things I'm really good at.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

That is sad to learn. :(

A blow torch - very chefy. Useful for lighting some bbqs too.

Edit: Just read the post about farting. Hmm, be careful with naked flames in an enclosed space. :)

Being of a polite and retiring nature I'll avoid suggesting you could dispense with the blowlamp and just use a match and "natural talent". No, I won't suggest that and maintain my high standards instead. :)

Getting Better
I wonder if it's an age thing, the older we get the more we fart..? Perhaps that's where "old farts" come in....

Sharp certainly thinks so...:envy: :lipssealed:

Just had a chat with a very nice policeman on a big motorbike, he said normally you can't park here overnight but OK during the day and explained where all the Aires and campsites were. He then asked if we saw anything last night as the sports centre gates were damaged and a bike stolen.

May I ask why didn't you have the awning fitted by the dealer when the van was new?

Never had one on the last van but last couple of trips had some really hot weather so changed our minds.
Still probably a waste if money as in the past most times we have wound one out had to put it in after 10-15min as the wind got up.

Same with us
Ours spends most of the time rolled up.
But essentiall when it's roasting hot.
I'm getting an end panel for mine too - like a semi transparent fly screen material. Great for when the sun is low in the sky (will probably never use it)

My Dash Cam arrived today
Why on Earth don't they include the micro SD card??!!??

Have you hard wired yours?

Wednesday morning call in on a friend in Kortrijk to fuel up on strong Belgium coffee before the "Drama of Campirama".
Arrived at Campirama at 2pm, Emmanuel says where have you been we were expecting you at 10am, show him the text he sent me saying 14:00. Anyway awning fitted and finally got away at 6:30.

Headed for the Aire just up the road but that was full and car park by it chocker. So thought we would try the new one in the centre of Kortrijk, bad move. Loads of building restoration and road rebuilding in the centre. We go down a small road to get to a bridge over the river the Aire is just across the river but at the end of the road a 90 deg bend and just before it loads of steelwork supporting a building that comes ½ way across the road, no way we will be able to make the bend. So have to reverse 100yds back up the road and by that time there is a car turning into the road with a que of cars behind, they all had to reverse back to let me out. 20min later having done a couple of circuits of the centre and every road we wanted to go down was closed gave up and headed for Wervik about 18km away.

Small 8 van Aire, yippie one space left, €10 for 72 hours, expensive for one night but cheap for three. ARP camera, stay longer than 72 hours barrier won't open and automatic parking fine.
Its on an island that was created when they straightened the river in 1992 to improve navigation and the island is a country park.

Needed some comfort food bangers and saute potatoes with liberal quantity of red wine. Oh boy those sausages had a lot of garlic in them.

Silly question I think you know the answer.:)

Another silly question.

Did you purchase the hard wire kit, or just cut the plug off the supplied car kit?

(I think I know the answer to this one already Lenny. You cut the plug off )

On a different matter, did the dealer make a decent job of the awning?

No plug to cut off, end of lead is a standard USB just plugged it into the power supply that I had already wired in for previous cam.
Made sure the leads plug together under the bottle holder so I can pull that out and connect to one of my hab battery fed USB's sockets if I want it powered up for a while when down loading files.

Yes awning fine just need some hot weather and some space to try it out. Only about a metre between vans on this Aire but it is a nice Aire will post some pics later.
