I developed a tooth abscess last year whilst in France. We stopped at a village and I knocked on the door of the dentist's house. A little old lady walked past me and said "he won't help you". "Why?" I asked in my best French. "Because he is dead!" she replied.

Eventually I found a lovely dentist who charged me next to nothing and gave me a carrier bag full of medication (but make sure you know how to take it given the French predilection for taking their drugs using the less comfortable method).

Not getting on too well with this going south lark, only got as far as Nantes and that's taken a week.

Blown the total camping budget for the trip, at a Camping-Car Park, €13.30 per night, HOW Much!, two nights here plus €4.40 for the card, still in shock. Never going to beat our record of €21 for 22 nights inc. water.:D

That sounds about right to me. (y) France is a big place after all. You're on holiday so why rush?
So many nice places to see, plenty of time to see them in.

Richard.
Only got 3 1/2 weeks in total, a bit of a short trip were hoping to get to northern Spain.
Just been reading @peterc10 's thread, sounds like the weather is better in France.
Very limited on trips this year, I've got some minor day surgery on 5th of June hence this short trip, on my hand probably won't be able to drive for 3 weeks. One daughter getting married in July other one expecting in late September. Hoping to get away for 3 weeks towards the end of August then probably grounded unit end of October hopefully get away for a couple of months then.

Carried on west to St Nazaire to have a look at the submarine pens, a bit of a disappointment not that much to see but shear size of them was impressive. The weather didn't help rain came in Wednesday pm. Dry but very overcast today also don't think much of the temperature going down to a freezing 19 deg.

It looks a bit like the things which have nets strung between them for scooping fish up. But odd design if it is. :)

I wouldn't think there's any way you'd guess, either would have had to see them or spend a fair time on the internet looking, like I've just done, but now I know I can see why 'black' is a clue.

Very interesting (y)

Something to do with Black Death? Are they supposed to be the ropes down which rats may have crawled?
