Painful start to the day, had to get up realy early, Chinese F1 on German Eurosport at 8:15.
Then off towards Toledo, 30 km down the road remembered we had meant to go and look at the Roman dam.:(

Sunday not the best day to visit Toledo, coach loads of tourists and when we got to the main square it was rammed with people and bus loads more ariving all the time. As far as we could work out some sort of political demonstration over womens pensions.

The Alcazar was a disapointment couldn't realy see the building as its been turned into a military museme ,at least it was Sunday and we got in free. The new entrance hall is a bit weird it has been built on top of Roman remains.

A city OK to visit if you are passing but don't go out of your way.

Unusual Camper stop tonight, looks like a road with parking at the sides but its a dedicated Aire, just a turning circile at the end and it has a Borne. Its at Berriozar on the northen edge of Pamplona.
€8/night but my FLT status is in tact they only charge between 6th - 14th July.:)

Better pack plenty of warm clothes, hottest days we have had in the last 5 weeks has been a couple at 26/27°, this last week has been freezing hasn't got above 18°.
It's baking here ,especially working today, sweat was running in my eyes.. the skies you are posting I think you are still in the UK.:D

Back in France now, so nice to be back in the warm after cold Spain. Drove over the Pyrenees on some nice small roads and its been 25/26° ever since we crossed the boarder.

On a nice little free Aire a few km south of Bergerac, only 4 places but we are the 5th van & another one just came in.
First time I've used ramps in over 5 weeks but my beer was in danger of falling over, still quite a slope, Ok as the beer stays on the table.

I let her go round an IKEA in Spain I should never have done that, I've just been dragged around one in France just south of Rouen.
I don't mind a 2 mile walk in the country but to get out of a store is taking the piss.
And to cap it off it meant we were going around Rouen in the rush hour, not for the faint hearted:(

Mrs C is banned from going into IKEA
She doesn't even dare to ask if she can go in
She just gives the place a loving look as we drive by

Went into the IKEA at Murcia with Maggie for a meal, all ok till I went to leave, Jesus thought I'd been kidnapped held hostage etc, following arrow's and numbers just to make a escape. Needless to say never again :)

The only good thing about the IKEA at Murcia is the Aire and service point.:)

Useful stop for us if we use this route as we often seem to stop on the lay-by at Eymet for a break. Thanks

I just found a link to this on a CoronaVirus thread and I wondered if our paths had crossed, as we were in Spain during that period. However, on the whole we were chasing you round.

We liked the aire at Murcia: free coffee in IKEA if you are a "family" member, free wifi and a couple of good food shops (can't remember the names). Also good transport into the city!
While you were at Canjanyar we were suffering storms at La Ahozia, with the van getting a good sand blasting!
We spent an hour or so at Cabo de Gata village but moved along to La Fabriquilla: much nicer but a large group of Spaniards moved in and it got crowded!
When we were at Canjanyar we were impressed with the goats going for a walk from the farm at the top of the hill: they crossed the road and came down through the aire.
Perhaps we were on the same parking near Motril: alongside the beach in old hotel grounds(?). Close to Hoyo 19 and Poniente.
After passing through Nerja we talked to a couple who were staying in an apartment in Frigiliana but had traveled in their MH: it had to be parked almost a mile away as the village has very limited access.

Thanks for this thread; it brought back several memories.

Happy travels (when possible) - Gordon

Some vultures for you!
