I suppose eventually all this leccy stuff will make sense!

But for now I have another question!

We bought a new Banner leisure battery at Peterborough and according to the control panel is fully charged. We are going to stay on a site with hook up for a few days, so should we have the leisure battery switched on or off?

:thanks2:

turn it on and leave it on all the time...wont come to any harm and will keep it topped up.

if you have no solar panel/hookup when in storage then it may be worth turning it off then to eliminate any background drain.

As a supplementary to this question Pappa, does the leisure battery always charge when the engine is running?

Yes it does, but with a standard setup it will charge very slowly as the engine battery will be fully charged 99% of the time so the alternator regulator will reduce current to suit.

to recharge a discharged (50%) leisure battery via the engine can take many hundreds of miles driving...depending on battery amp/hour rating.

works well to keep a fully charged battery topped up though.
