A Californian company - Happier Camper - has apparently developed a flexible kit called 'Adaptiv' to transform a standard Mercedes-Benz Sprinter into a campervan using boxes that snap together to create furnishings such as beds, kitchen and table etc. I spotted a fitted toilet is also available.

According to the blurb, the kit is made from durable weather-resistant moulded plastic (said to be lighter but stronger than wood). Owners can, apparently create an ever-changing customisable interior...

Wonder if it could catch on? :xsmile:

The DVLA won't like that! They say everything must be 'fixed'. For the UK they would also have to provide the now requisite 'motorhome graphics' and an awning rail!!

However wasn't that how Westfalia promoted the first VW campers back in the mid 1950s? All removable.

a company called reimo did exactly the same early 90s, it never caught on. a van for business in the week then at weekends or holidays clip the furniture units in place for a camper van

Beats, 2 sleeping bags, Air Bed, and a BBQ.!. Plus a "porta-potty". Guy used to come to our festivals, in his "works" van. Eventually he added the camp kitchen from an old trailer tent!. Later he added two Double glazed windows, which they had taken out of a Refurb; job!.
