Well Jeff - I have to say i was doubtful but you are spot on - free shipping to UK from the US!!! - must cost more than the item does.

I will go back and look around the site a bit more now

BTW did you know you can now get LED conversion kits for the good old MagLite?

As well as better battery life and a bright light, they are great for a bit of self defence too...

The maglite conversion kits are expensive (very) but superb. I use a maglite everyday at this time of year and I think my batteries must be lasting almost three times as long with the new LED kit. Also the beam is much stronger and whiter. The new bulbs are available for all types of maglite.

I did have an AA Mini Maglite, which i've had for about 12 years, but i dropped it down a Portaloo at the Ogri Motorcycle Rally in August. There was no way i was gonna retrieve that.
I recently priced up the new LED Mini Maglite....... 30 bleddy quid !!!!
Maglites may be good torches, but are way overpriced IMO, especially when you lose stuff like i do.

If this LED Torch website can produce LED Torches made with aircraft grade aluminium, and ship to the UK for $3, how much profit must Maglite make.

I think you will find that shipping is from Hongkong and not the USA.

Saying that, most stuff sold in the US (and anywhere else for that matter) is manufactured in the Far East

I saw a 9 LED pocket torch in Morecambe sunday market for £2.50
It takes 3 AAA batteries!
I bought 3 of them because they were so cheap!

Well folks i ordered a 15 led headlamp for fishing and in four days it's arrived.
It is a bit cheap and cheerful but i was only willing to risk £4 and at that price it's
a bargain :thumb:
Safe to say i'll be perusing the site again
Oh and it comes from Hong-Kong, in four days from order to delivery at this time
of year :Eeek:

LED torches are superb and we got 2 from Lidl a while back.

The batteries go on forever even if the normal bulb in the torch cant light up.

Wonderful for walking the Dawgs
