Does anyone know of an insurance company that still allows you to do this. I used to fly back to look after grandchildren covered with ERS (Camping and Caravanning) but they have stopped doing this policy. Am now with Caravanguard which only enables 72hour leaving of vans unattended.

Comfort will consider it, if the underwriter (Aviva) is satisfied with the security arrangements. I think they typically charge about £30 per week additional premium.

If 'unattended' is the wording used, what does it mean?

Unattended by the insured?

Unattended by the insured and a named driver? Or is it attended if the named driver is present?

Is it 'attended' if parked on a friend's property and they are in residence?

Any ansers from insurers on these points?

We are insured with Safeguard. They told us that we could leave it for a few nights to stay somewhere else but I'm not sure about two weeks.

What sort of location did you leave it in? Was anybody 'attending' it?

We told them it would be on campsites maybe anywhere in Europe but we didn't know where or when. This was so we could just got off to a hotel for a night or two which we did in Barcelona, Nice and a couple of other places.
