Hi has any Member learnt Spanish by buying a language course, as we would like to learn the language for holiday purposes while we are Isolating

I would not bother, by the time you will be allowed to go over to Spain and try it out on the locals you will have forgotten most of it ?

I’m learning German with Duolingo online.
I can say - ich bin eine Frau.
not that it would help me next time in Germany. I haven’t got to the holiday type questions I may need to ask yet.
might learn Swahili next!!!

Try Korean, just for interest. Lots of sounds seem based upon a square with bits poking out in different places.

Duolingo is good but it's American Spanish, so a little different from Spanish, Spanish. Have a look at Memrise for European Spanish.

I have the Rosetta Stone courses in Spanish and French. Effective but time consuming and requiring regular sessions. I can now say quite fluently in French:'My socks smell bad' !
