Learn to crochet?

I finished this yesterday for Remy's room (grandson).

My work in progress (well, one of them 🫣)
I’m really enjoying it. I’ve always admired Helen Shrimpton’s patterns but thought they would be too technical, but it’s really not.
The trouble is, Bella Coco has just brought out another CAL and I really want to do that too. I think I need to sell some blankets! 😁

What are you all working on at the moment?

Mrs Badknee has made some simply fabulous blankets for their Moho, don’t know if she has ever posted the pics here though..

( I hope that she doesn’t mind me mentioning them)

That looks lovely Lisa.

You could always sell some blankets at Drax or even auction some off :giggle:

Lovely

I'm currently making a Call the Midwife shawl/blanket.

Unable to knit at the moment so practicing crochet, wont put it on as start chain was so tight and rest so slack it is almost a crescent 😂 but it is getting me using my left hand a bit.

Try using a bigger hook for the starting chain. That can help.

I’m doing one of those too - (nearly) I’ve been unwell and did a couple of rows in wrong stitch - but not going to go back now 🙄. Howzit going?

That looks lovely.
I’m really enjoying it, I’m almost at the end of part 4. I’ll take a pic tomorrow and show you the progress.

My sister has given me a huge pile of textiles from a drawer in Mum's sideboard.

A lot to go through, a lot of mass produced things that won't fit my table but I hope to find some of my Grandfather's Aunt's crochet. She taught me..... She was matron in a mental health hospital (asylum) and always worked nights. The crochet helped pass the time. My sister says it's old tat!!!!

I’ve just crocheted this stash-buster jumper from a really easy pattern - it’s just dc and treble stitches alternated.

It took 400g of dk to make 40” bust x 24” length.

The size is infinitely variable as it is crocheted side-to-side with the arms added at the end.

The next one is going to be very stripey and very colourful 😀
