Just brought van from storage to give it the once over. Hopefully will get out in it soon.

When I turned pump on found water leaking from tap in bathroom. Seems to be coming from the tap itself rather than pipework so was wondering if it is repairable? Maybe a washer somewhere in tap?

Only leaks when pump turnend on. Can I just remove tap by unscrewing from underneath, or do I remove metal pipes from plastic pipes first?

Any advice welcome, including where I can get tap from if it needs replacing.

Thanks in advance.

I reckon you just need a new washer

The leak seems to be coming frpom the area between the tap body and the lever if that helps in the diagnosis!

Had to replace both my taps due to frost damage although some people have said that they have just replaced the cartridge inside but I don’t know if that possible. There is no washer or such that will cause the leak so it may be a new tap which can be bought online from places like Magnums Motorhomes at Grimsby.

The cartridge either needs replacing or tightening up. pop off the blue/red button under the lever. Inside is either a small slotted or allen headed screw. loosen that and lift off the lever. There will be a ring and a retaining nut that releases the cartridge. measure the diameter if you need to replace it. There are 2 different sizes.

What IRHP said.
And to stop it happening again when you park up (store) your van leave the taps in the open position and in the mid point (temperature). That way they won’t store water, and create room for expansion.

went to a couple of plumbers merchants today and both said I would have problems getting a replacement cartridge!

Have attached photos of cartridge to this email.

Anyone replaced before and had problem?

It looks like a standard domestic tap so I wouldn't have thought there would be a problem getting one. <Broken link removed>

This what you want I couldn’t attach a link but the screenshot should send you in the right direction £13.95 for 2

As it's just a standard tap most domestic ones will do if you need to replace it.

His cartridge looks totally different to Dometic cartridges. Search Google images for tap cartridges

I had a similar problem with mine last year (Autofail Savannah 2010) with water seeping from the seals, so finally decided to replace it. Fortunately we had our kitchen revamped from Wrens and they kindly supply an emergency kitchen with s/s sink and tap. It fits better as it has a longer arm so deposits the water nearer the middle of the existing sink.
The hardest part was having to remove the sink in order to get at the pipework. Yours looks like a 2 minute jobby. :giggle: :giggle:
