How do I access my kitchen sink tap fitting and do I need specialist washers?
Water appears around the base of my kitchen tap on the counter surface when it is turned on. Also when it is turned off it is dripping at the pipe joins (silver and red) just beneath the counter surface (pictured through the grill above the oven).
What could cause this and how do I rectify it please?
(I did think to remove the sink but there doesn't seem to be much spare pipe to allow the bowl to be pulled out. And I did try to remove the black grill above the oven but it requires the oven to be pulled out)

The tap is could be damaged or just bad connections, the easiest way is to disconnect the waste and also the tap pipe tails where they connect. Then take out the sink which will give you access to the back of the tap to remove the nut that holds it in place.

The drip on the work surface will either be the O ring where the spout joins or a crack in the body or spout.
The blue & red hose connectors have an O ring for the seal they are released buy removing a pin in the side usally green or blue. You will probably have to take the tap out to get at it.

How do I take the tap out?

How do I take the tap out?
Big plastic nut underneath and if you have enough slack in the hoses you can disconnect them above the worktop once the tap is out.

You may not have to take it out it might be the cartridge inside that needs replacing, can usually be done from the top.
Did mine recently on my Hymer.

1. Do you mean disconnect the waste pipe at the sink or the waste tank end?
2. Do you mean disconnect the tap tail pipes at the tap or water tank end?

But how do I get to the plastic nut underneath?

How do I get to the cartridge?

Disconnect the waste pipe from the sink and the tap tails from the first connection away from the taps. In my experience it’s very difficult to remove the tap nut unless you remove the sink and I have tried many times. Due to frost damage I had to replace both my taps last year.

Remove the top of the tap , Prise out plastic blanking bung , and remove screw tap top should lift off , unscrew cartridge and replace with a new one , I got two off Amazon for £10.

Long thin arms they are often only finger tight, a plumbers tap spanner may fit.
There's no access point? Do I have to remove the sink or oven?

Do I disconnect the waste pipe from the sink by unscrewing the screw in the plug hole?

Before stripping your motorhome apart try taking the top off the tap first.

To replace the ceramic mixer cartridge - now you have the tap handle off - unscrew the large brass nut and lift out the cartridge. Screwfix do a replacement for £4.76 at either size (35mm or 40mm) Tap cartridges.

i would think the drip below is water running down under the taps from the water on the work top be a coincidence for both to leak together wipe the top dry and underneath and leave a while without using the tap see if its still dripping

It probably is. But what would be causing the leak above? Hopefully it's the cassette. I'll try replacing that tomorrow.
