Has anyone got any ideas why external shower has water coming out and pump running for short intermittent periods when not in use?
Shower used for the first time yesterday and worked fine. Pump started intermittent running last night. Not on EHU

the pump will cut in when the pressure drops ie as water leaks out. make sure the taps/valves are shut off properly as the bayonet fitting can leak if a bit of grit or scale gets in it.

Worst thing we ever had fitted . Thought it would be good for washing muddy dogs never used it once and it has developed two leaks over the years , have now blanked it off .

Thanks for responses, we'll check it out.

I had to replace the tiny O ring that is the seal in mine, lucky if I used the shower twice but all the lime in European water wore the the O ring till it leaked. Total pita, wish it wasn’t fitted.

Try using it again, there might be some dirt in the shut off valve. Ours is great in the Spanish summer we can have outside showers 😁 we stand in the grey water bucket obviously 💦🤣

Myself and tonyandcarol had to strip theirs down recently at the nozzle end, soak the parts in citric acid to remove limescale and corrosion, then reassemble using new washers/O rings. It works a treat now, no longer leaks, and has a great flow pattern. 👍

Cheers,

Jock. 🙂

I did consider fitting one in the rear garage, but then I i thought, hang on laddie, that would be another thing to have to get my lips around and blowing hard, when draining down for winter.
I had no end of probs last year with the internal shower one, I had forgotten to remove the shower hose, and sure enough it froze and the internal cartridge was pushed forward causing a leak. You try and get a replacement plastic back nut for a Reich shower its not sold as a spare part. :swear:
Reading this thread somewhat reinforces my decision that its not a good idea.
Good luck to the OP, I hope its something simple and easy to fix, flooded garage is the last thing you want.
