Not being “size-ist” but it is truly huge........
Mines bigger than yours.....
very nice indeed, just spotted the low mileage though, really hope you don't end up with my problems
from your smiley I think you know, but ours was stood around as a demonstrator for a couple of years, then only did 2000 miles in its first thee years ownership before us, I think that caused a lot of our issues, the biggest one being the turbo delaminated inside and failed, but only partially, engine management issues for nearly 12 months before it became undriveble
All now sorted and behind us, Mercedes 3.0 makes a great engine gearbox combination, we have since been down to Spain and up to top of Norway now on 40K miles
Where did you buy your Hymer from David?
I wasn't being facetious (this time) l had forgotten. I have a potted history: bought from Hayes, driven to Spain where its owner has a property, owner had a heart attack from which he has recovered but can no longer renew C1, mh eventually brought home by his son & sold back to Hayes. It comes with 12 months guarantee from Hayes. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Are you sure it wasn't Trigger Dave?
private sale from a chap in Bolton, had been sold originally by Hymer North West who were based on Blackpool Road Preston
So the old Hymer UK (Brownhills NW) in reality then?
Our FLAIR came from there as well according to the N+B factory it was never paid for
I wonder if that's why Brownhills lost their sole Hymer franchise status Martin?
This was our Le Voyageur;
5.25m, 3 tonnes, Citroen C25 with a massive 73bhp and a drop down double bed over the front seats. It was well specified for a 1986 van with Truman blown air heating, shower, nautical toilet tank and LPG tank that would do us all year.
We bought it in Jan 2013 and sold it last autumn. In between it got us two, our dog and cat to Puy de Domes, Alsace, The Loire Valley, Il de Re, Il d'Oleron, the Bordeaux wine region and numerous trips on short breaks into the Charente Valley and the Midi-Pyrenees. Plus I used to take it, the dog and cat on fishing breaks twice a year while Little Wife was away visiting family in the UK.
I hope that you too get a lot of pleasure out of your LV.
Thanks - I'm sure I will. This is the newest I've had. The one before my Hymer was 23 years old when I sold it. The Hymer was 8 years old. Never had one I didn't thoroughly enjoy whatever it was.
Lovely van - just the sort of thing I'm after but with twin singles that turn into a large double. The wife can't stand wardrobes on either side of her as she feels claustrophobic which is the problem with our Autotrail Savannah which has a big central wardrobe at the back between the single bunks.
They do one with an optional infill that makes a huge double. No problem for us - I use the drop-down, wife has the rear double. We talk loudly. We have to.
Whilst we could do that it wouldn't work when we get to take the grandchildren away!
True. We just share out the three dogs .
