We visited Le Grand-Bornand in August 2008. Some great views were to be had as the ski-lift was open and so we went up to appreciate the views.
This is predominantly a ski resort but worth a visit in the summer for the views alone. The resort has a weekly market where some wonderful cheeses can be purchased along with other local produce. Some nice bars and restaurants in the resort, also good walks and fishing, depending on time of year.

I would also highly recommend Morzine, fab ski resort and absolutely stunning in summer. It is also a big downhill mountain biking area so a fair few ski lifts are open. We stayed at Camping les Marmottes. Beautiful scenery.
