MH
Looking
Hi everyone me again.

I wonder if anyone could help me narrow down my search for a MH style.

I have looked at quite a few and i am imagining the one im looking for. I am hoping that one of you with your expertise might be able to help.

So im looking for.

4 berth
3.5t
bedroom at the back/seperated
kitchen opposite toiled and shower in the middle
and lounge area at the front
and the 2 seats at the front to be able to swivel round to make part of the lounge area
+ another bed over the top of the driver seats so the beds are all seperate

My main kind of thing is im thinking i would like the bedroom at the back to be able to be set permanent so i could buy a proper mattress etc.

Anything sprint to mind?

You might struggle with a fixed rear bed 4 berth legally on 3.5 tonnes....

Have a look here for models that might suit. Click on the tab within the link - matching models. Hope that helps

Why not look for an electric drop-down bed, they have a proper mattress.

Don’t think you’ll get that layout on 3.5t

Having toilet/bathroom opposite kitchen makes for a very long MH

Lots of motorhomes with that type of layout. Most are European made. Just a case of visiting as many dealers as you can. If you are looking for a new motorhome the autumn NEC show will give you lots of options. If looking for a second hand model the Lincoln Show in September is popular with many dealers exhibiting their stock.

As others have said your main problem will keeping it within 3.5t and still having enough payload to use it properly.

Yes, exactly (y) - the fixed bed makes for a long motorhome and that is why I said it would struggle on 3.5 tonnes. You might have to consider a compromise somewhere

Not all motorhomes have 4 seat belts and make sure the van you get is under 3.5t if that's what your licence allows.

My van is 3.85t but I've seen similar advertised as 3.5t

I could get mine down to 3.5t (empty) only by removing original equipment, no passengers, fuel or water

Our Burstner is sold as 3500kg with about 400kg payload. Rear island bed, separate shower and separate bathroom and electric drop down double in the middle. Seats 6-8 in a face to face lounge.
We had it upgraded for free to 3850kg. 4 travelling seats with belts too
Most vans that fit your bill will have limited, if any payload if they are under 3500kg.

I'm afraid that I don't fill the criteria of "expertise", Noddyx, as I'm in the same boat as you.

Still searching for the right age, right price, right location Bessacarr E560...??

However, I think that this model might fit most of your criteria, with the added bonus of an optional Ford Transit cab, and very keenly priced...

Good luck with your search...

Swift 680fb is the same if you wanted to widen your search options.

Hello ,
Without doubt the best to suit your needs will be the autotrail 632 Apache preferably 10 years old which should be circa 30k. The layout you require and excellent build quality I have owned a (2009) Autotrail for 3 year and it has not had one fault in 12,000 miles apart from running out of water

Sorry to slightly hijack thread but Sneaky Blinder also have a look at Swift Bolero 680FB which is to all intents and purposes identical to the E560, just a little less "posh". Ace also did a 680FB but that was the economy version and was phased out fairly soon after production.

M-J beat me to it!

Our Carado T449 is exactly that layout and officially 3.5T with 400-odd kg payload. As well as fixed island bed, it has a decent garage that we get 4 bikes into (wheels off). It has a drop down bed over the lounge too.

12 months on and we are delighted with it. New with a few gizmos, canopy, rear cam, TV aerial, etc etc it can be had for £55k

Would be very surprised if you find that layout with a decent payload.
If you see one you're interested in get them to take to weighbridge.
With everything onboard easy to add another 500kg at least.

Really ... I thought Autotrails were really good at holding onto water ... :imoutahere:
