To all you home machinists out there I am retiring from a maching type job after 40 odd years in engineering . I have quite a lot of 12 mm sq lathe tooling both tipped tooling with inserts and lots of HSS . There is also some dti's, parallels etc .If any body would like any stuff give me a pm and I can go through what I have .

I've a had a lathe in my garage for over 25 years and always on the lookout for cheap tooling.

Id be very happy to buy them. Its a shame you are so far away from South Yorkshire.

Hi Mike
I'm keen as I still work my machines, but it seems that all contact is blocked. Perhaps you could look at your settings?

Is be interested in any of the lathe tooling and some of the parallels thanks. I upgraded my Myford for a long bed Harrison M300 last year and I'm hoping to upgrade my Tom Senior mill to a Bridgeport soon.

Hi jockaneezer we can sort something out with lathe tooling afew more people wanting some also . Have got various parallels some angle gauges and a small sine bar if interested .
Where are you based ?

Hi Mike, I'm just near Carlisle and I'm happy to nip across Durham way if that helps ?
I have a tipped parting off tool and a DCMT turning tool that's home made, but for everything else, I use HSS blanks which were fine for the Myford, but it would be nice to get something heavier for the Harrison ?
I've not used a sine bar since tech college ! Some parallels would be handy though, I've had some dodgy set ups on the mill using stacks of washers or big nuts !
Just a gratuitous picture of the Harrison with the home made fixed steady I've just finished making. I think I need to fit ball bearings to the steady legs though as the brass pads are leaving a mark on the chrome cylinder rods that I end up rebuilding for my son's forestry equipment.

I'm in Darlington if you could pop over here would probably be better as you can have a look at the stuff l have and help yourself . You need to try PTFE or tufnel for your steady .

Just finished replacing bearings and discs on my son's Iveco tipper and I'm ready for a pint !

Got anything left Mike?

Yes still got some stuff , plenty of HSS and some other bits . What are you after ?

Hss tools 10-12mm width.
Small M2 drill chuck
Just bought a DTI on eBay before I saw your post.

Was good to meet up yesterday Mike and the tooling is going to be really usefull, I've wanted to try using carbide end mills for a while now on some of the hardened pins I have to deal with, so I'm looking forward to trying those out.
We went home via the A68 and had dinner at Corbridge, so the missus was happy too !
olley, are you still after a No 2 mt chuck ? I've an old keyed Jacob's 2mm to 13mm that you're welcome to ?
