The type of cell will affect price and efficiency. Last time I looked there were three types - Monocrystalline, Polycrystalline, and Amorphous, of which Monocrystalline is the most costly but also the best at converting sunshine into electricity. As others have said, you get what you pay for - bargain-priced panels may contain less efficient cells.

Has anyone bought panels from Bimble? They advertise as the cheapest in the UK and wondered if anyone had any experience of the quality?

Have you got a link to Bimble?

all the ones on my van are poly . i have a mono here i use it to charge batteries up in the garage . spare ones .
when i first bought the poly they were supposed to be the new in thing . far better than mono . then after a few years it was mono is better . i stuck with poly with the last three as i prefer to pattern the crystals make .ha ha .
they work thats all i can say.

A quick look at Bimble
It seems they have in order to confuse or mislead uninformed buyers started calling Polycrystaline (multicrystaline) not to be confused with Monocrystaline
I would not trust them personally

When I looked earlier they had multi crystalline as their cheap range but they also had poly and mono panels too at a greater cost.
