Just updated firefox to the latest release. They have removed the lines between tabs and makes it horrendous to do use (In my opinion).

There is no option to fix this in the UI. However you can fix it at least for now in about:config.

Be careful doing this, I accept no responsibility if you break your browser.

Type about:config in your address bar no https:// or anything else. Hit enter.

Then copy and paste this into the search box.

browser.proton.enabled

Click the icon to the far right to toggle it to

browser.proton.enabled = false

Borders should appear straight away.

You can toggle it back or click the reset button to reset this.

I don't have that option unfortunately. As a matter of policy I have to install updates for security reasons. (business requirement)

They have screwed up Thunderbird as well. They have used black and white hollow icons for all mailboxes meaning it is now hard to tell at a glance the Deleted, Spam, Inbox from your sorted mailboxes etc.

I found this to give a fairly decent "fix".

I run both.
Firefox is my daily driver and is locked down hard. NOSCRIPT, Ad blocker, 3rd party cookies off etc etc etc.
Chrome is used dev work (Hit F12 to see it) and stuff where I don't need to be logged in, to prevent tracking.

Anyone using Firefox on Kindle, it tells me Firefox is no longer supported on Amazon devices ..however it still works but no future updates or bug fixes.
What is your experience with it on Amazon tablets?

Everytime a search engine asks me to change to their new system for my own good it always cocks up everything.
They do this for their own good not yours.

Connect today and everything Firefox has disappeared and I find I'm on MS Edge. Go back to FF and it's all new, tab settings all gone, Symbaloo gone, no log ins saved. Then I remember, it happened a year or more back. Go into FF Profile and try one of the four others sitting there and lo and behold everything is back to normal.

Gromett. Don't know how many Firefox updates we've had since you posted this fix but I've noticed the lines are gone again and fix no workee this time. Perhaps they've cottoned on at last? :(

I noticed it when they disappeared. I have given up on the will to fight it.

I have however made a start on a custom css file for firefox, but probably won't get very far as it is boring.

I've been running Firefox for years on Windows and never noticed the problem described.
When the issue first surfaced I tried it on a test machine and no issues.
Like yourself, Graham, never experienced, or maybe not noticed, on all the Windows pc's I've updated. Not really seen any difference between those and a couple of Linux machines either.

Just had another 'New version of Firefox available. Update now?' nag message. After a week of minor annoyances and irritations, and where I have uttered the immortal 'OFFS' far too often,I have declined the update offer for just now ...
