Advice folks please. We have travelled a lot on the tunnel but this is our latest crossing to date, arriving at about 1.30am. Do we plump for Cite Europe car park, the aire or make a run to Gravelines? I expect Gravelines to be busy. Any other ideas, we don't mind driving for a while when we arrive, heading to Lommel in Belgium on Friday.

Cite Europe for me.
Loads of space and you won't disturb anyone as you arrive plus you can nip over the road in the morning for supplies.

Richard.

We had a bad experience it was blowing a gale and they had overbooked the crossing so we had to wait 2 hours to the next one . The place was full of what looked like Itinerants (Transit tippers with cars on the back) and we had a bad nights sleep in a nearly deserted aire at city europe.

Yep Cite Europe, personally never had a problem there, however on the odd occasion when I feel like a night drive, you can get many miles with lots of places to drive in without fuss for a kip!

Gravelines my all time favourite but at that time , cite Europe has got to be the one, nothing in gravelines at that time , and as you will be off first thing in the morning , no point going twenty miles out of your way, unless of course you are heading north.(y):)

Right just read your post again , and see you are indeed going north(n) but still think cite Europe your best bet.

Agree with all the above, Cite Europe. With the police station right next door, gave us reassurance when arriving late(y)

We've used the Aire at the water sports centre in Gravelines 4 times in the last few months, very quite and best of all free. :)

We did the Cd'E after arriving late last Sunday, far easier and with the virtual guarantee of space is a no brainier. Of course know where near as pretty as Gravelines!

Definitely go for Cite Europe, easy to find especially in the early hours, get a good night's kip and then shop and you're set for a few days, you never know you might even get an earlier crossing if you arrive at ET UK early.
