Late decision to visit the Lofoten Islands, advice please

Hi All

We leave in just over a week to spend 2 months touring Scandinavia....driving north through Sweden and then driving south through Norway and back to the UK via Denmark.
In a late change to our plans we may add the Lofoten Islands to the itinerary, driving down through the Islands and then crossing by ferry from Sorvagen across to Bodo and then down the West coast on road number 17.
Would therefore appreciate any advice you can give us on campsites, sights to see, etc, etc, on that route.

we did more or less exactly the same 18 months ago, in about one week less, and barely made it round in the time we had

we did go out and back via Malmo which added a few miles, watch out for the return journey and not leaving enough time, the drive home through Norway will be much, much slower than the run up through Sweden
