I'm a newbie
Hi, I was stumped last night when I tried to fill the motorhome water tank up with a site's mains. The tap had a larger threaded end which didn't match the normal size that I normally come across on other sites. Does anyone what I should ask for to get the appropriate adaptor to convert to the usual garden hose size? Or do I need a completely different filling hose? I've not yet bought one of those movable tanks on wheels so using the pump was not an option so I was managing what was left of my water quite carefully last night. lol

Thanks in advance.

Hi I have had the same situation this year and now carry a watering can to cover these times. In France last month I found a large tap connector which is now with all my other hose connections. When ever I visit a garden centre or DIY store I look to see if there is a connection that I do not have just in case.

Best of luck

The big size is 1" ..

and you can also buy them with a 3/4" insert .. (for the smaller taps).

occasionally you will come across a 1/2" tap..

some taps in France are smooth ended so you need a rubber push on connector .. they also come in 1" and 3/4"
