Lake District Hire

Hi all,
I've hired a motorhome for the first time for an August holiday with my children. We are intending to visit the Lake District, then detour via North Wales before heading home. I just wondered, bearing in mind we will be there during peak summer holiday time, will I be able to wing it in pubs/sites every night withut booking or do I really need to get on and book sites to stay in? Part of me wants to get organised but then I really don't want to be tied to a schedule/route.

If you do the Lakes in summer you will need to book. We were at Keswick three weeks ago and it was very busy and full at the weekend.

You’d be safer booking. Sites around here ( Devon south coast) are very busy now. Some seem to stay full from April right through to September.
