Could anyone tell me if there is a limit on how many days we can stay. We have always just stayed one night but we are having a slow drive South this time.

Hi, from memory it's 3 days max , 6.5 euro parking motorhome, not sure what per person
Lovely spot , stayed nearly every trip

We have stayed there for 6-7 days in the past as we love it there.
It was 'off season' though.

Quite a long time ago, one of FUN members, Salopian (Stephen) used to go on this aire and used to stay a few nights there without any trouble at all.
I can have a look and even give a call to ask the Mairie.

Hi Frankie. If you do, could you ask if there is a list of the days it is shut? We're regulars there, and twice we've been caught out not being able to access it. Once a few years back when they had a WWII event on, and last week when they had a giant car boot sake (brocant) on

I will have to try again on Monday as it was shut at 5.00, and at that precise moment, I was told that one of the little ones I childmind, is going to have a little brother in September, and asked if I could also (please) be his Nanny!

From memory the automated barrier will allow anyone in even you FIDGET , persuading it to let you out is altogether another matter

Hi red, remember it well , I should have gone too specsavers and read the entry ticket which had the code to get out , thanks for your help !!!
Nice to hear from you, shame it doesn,t look as if we will be going back to France ever again , due to various health conditions , can't stop the ravages of time , must be getting old .

There was a campsite just above the aire, always had pitches when the aire was busy.

When we couldn't access La Mailleraye a couple of weeks ago, we went instead to Aire La Palmeraie at Heurteauville. Very very impressed, wont suit all as it's €10 and €4 for electricity, but it has a small bar and you can order bread for the morning. Only 6 pitches are riverside, and it seems they must be booked in advance, but there's a pedestrian gate onto the towpath. I think it may be the old Cherries aire originally. Very friendly and helpful new owners.
