The aire at La Fleche on the riverside and opposite the Carrefour store is now closed and the services have been removed.

This is because there is a brand new Camping Car Parks aire at le Monnerie near the big LeClerc supermarket as you approach La Fleche from the north.

The closure of the La Fleche aire was reported some months ago. But thanks for pics of the alternative aire. How much is it and what facilities are available?

The old aire was getting a bit tired ,but a good stop over with mini mkt across the road.
Unless Autumn leaves are being swept up by the road sweeper ..up and down ,up and down at 4am
Will have to give the new one a go if stopping that way .
Cheers for the pics

I assume this is now a paying one Helen scousebird ?
If so by what method ?
Enjoy the red stuff ?

these camping car parks are all very well, but doesnt anyone else think this is going to end up with all the free or cheap aires closeing down, then we will end up same as here with ccc and cmc campsites forever riseing prices and rules?

Some communities are finding the free aires unsustainable, like one near us that has recently been replaced with a CCP aire. The communities are providing the free facilities often at some considerable cost to them, and in some cases aren't seeing the return via spending in the local commerce. Too many people taking advantage of the free camping and not giving anything back.

The communities receive an income from the CCP aires, can you blame them?

Rules? In France?

Don't blame the Communities but will it get used much at €12.55?
The one at Calais is very neat and tidy but nothing to attract people to it and costs more than the sea-front used to, although that was awful.
The one at La Fleche was well situated but this is out of town now.
Time will tell. I now drive nearby to La Suze sur Sarthe.
Was the old municipal but lovely site close to river and town.

Oh yes my Dear.... We are making them lol! If one doesn't suit us... well I bet you know it all !

Not disputeing that just looking at it from our side of the Chanel, ok not ridiculously dear at the moment, but wait till they have the upper hand.

I doubt that free aires disappear! It's too much of a way of life to be abandonned. Of course the places having difficulties with the cost might ask for some business makers's help. And some like Camping Car Park might take over. On the other hand quite a few are more than affordable and offer some good services ... wifi among them!

We went onto the municipal a couple of weeks ago. It has been improved with new sanitary blocks and cleaned up. From memory it was 14euros on ACSI.

While we over here are pushing for free Aires by always quoting France they are in fact going the other way

There are still lots of free ones , we are in Brittany and have stayed at lots of free spots in this trip.

I can understand how sometimes communities are moving to a pay aire model. We used to always be able to shop locally and so put money back in a community.

This trip there have been lots more villages with nowhere for you to buy bread/beer etc as the out of town supermarkets have taken the business.

Baguette machines are becoming more everyday rather than out of the ordinary.

Perfect reason to avoid all such websites/parking apps. Mr Chaser...

What you don't know won't stress you and cause you worry.

I have managed to motorhome all over France reasonably successfully without ever consulting one.
