Hi when we go in the MH I take our Kodi box with us and use the following cable

that is plugged into a 12v Ciggy socket via one of these quality Scosche USB sockets

The problem we have is that the box freezes a lot when booting up and sometimes when it's in use ( just the same way a pc would freeze , and it's not due to overheating as it freezes when stone cold at boot up )
The kodi box works100% fine when at home where the only difference being the power source when is the following

And here is a pic of the power requirements from the back of the kodi box.

So does anyone here use a kodi box in their mh and run it via 12v as apposed to 240v, if so how.
Surley 2amps is not to much to ask?
I know the other option would by a fire stick, but I'd rather get this sorted and use it.

try a different usb adaptor as it may be under 5v and may not be making 2A. rule that out first

I'll deffo try that, one question I forgot to ask, is there any way to check with a multimeter as to what amps is coming out of the lead, or does it only draw the amps via the lead when the box is connected and being used.

Those USB leads often have very thin cables although they say 2amp if you cut one up looks like the are only suitable for a few milliamps, so you get a volt drop across the cable
I have had a similar problem with an HDMI switch box between my Android TV box & Sat receiver.

That's where I think the issue lies but how do I know that the new one I buy is capable of carrying 2amps down the cable.
Unless Ofc I make my own.
NOTE :* the current lead I use has no ratings on the cable, but as u say I'd guess my hair is as thick as the cable used in it.

I have a external hard drive 2tb and I download all my box sets and films off kodi onto it through my laptop at home.

It then just plugs into my tv via the usb and I can watch all the stuff I have downloaded anywhere with no internet access required and no buffering etc.

This is also all done via 12v tv so easy when off grid

I find a couple of these really useful:
