Hi
One of my to do jobs, is to sort out the kitchen tap that's decided to stop working, when I turn it on, I can here the micro switch click, but it doesn't activate the pump like the other taps.
The fact that the micro switch clicks, is that a sign that it's ok, so can rule the switch out.

No, but maybe a broken wire from it.
So are you saying, you think the switch clicking means that's ok and the problem is possibly a broken wire (after the switch)

Broken wire inside the tap very common. I got fed up with repairing them on my van & fitted a Shureflo pump.
With a broken wire in the tap, would the micro switch still click?

If you can solder, the wires can be repaired but will inevitably break again

When you tajj mk r the top off the tap hopefully you have a wire break far away from the switch that you can solder the wires.

Thankyou, will look for my soldering kit ready, initially I thought I'd just order another tap, save the hassle, until I viewed the priced online

Even the switches are 15 quid.
I see you have a Hymer, this was my fix.

Putting the tap back together can get confusing, the switch has normally closed contacts and the tap lever holds the switch closed which opens the contacts. Had me fooled the first time.

If the taps are the Reich Vector the screw holding the lever on is unplated steel and goes all rusty, it only screws into nylon, replace the screws on all my taps with stainless steel ones.

Fix the tap, and stop moving the tap around. Set it at optimising the position.
Use the bathroom tap for filling kettle.

Good advice, this in itself proves that these taps are a very poor design...my latest replacement cost 99€. It lasted 5 months of light use...currently waiting for it to be replaced..

I think it says it all in my link in post #14
Any questions just ask.
Just one point don't use coloured water hose for the pick up pipe like I did. Alage grows on it, I've since changed it for a length of Speed flow pipe.

While you move the tap the wires will keep breaking. The switch about £8.

It's not moving the tap that breaks the wires, it was always our washbasin tap that broke & that didn't swivel. It's rotating the tap lever for temperature selection that breaks the wires.
Switch for the Vector tap is £15.

When this happened to the kitchen tap while on holiday, I came up with a temporary fix. Disconnect the wires from the tap switch, there was a connector on the wires from the tap. Run new wires to a pushbutton switch mounted somewhere on the front of the sink unit. You have to press the button when you open the tap, but at least it works.

Caravans Cruz here in Spain have fitted my tap with a new microswitch and it's in the post...good service...I intend preventing the movement of the tap and just use on an off until it breaks again....I will then fit a push switch like autorouter or a Pressure system like Lenny HB ....that should get me a few more years out of my Hymer.....

Well, taps off and yes wire broken inside tap, I'm not messing about, the tap has had years of use and is looking a bit tired, so ordered a new one.
Great advice from members on here as usual, at a time when needed, so thankyou for all replies, plus great advice about future use of new tap to reduce the amount of strain on the wires. (y)
