Stunning pictures. I'm guessing picture like those need some fairly seriously priced kit.

On and off for many years.
Fantastic photography and lovely colours. You should put some photos in for the Countryfile Calendar Competition (unless you are a professional photographer of course - I think the comp might be for amateurs only and I think you may be a professional by the standard of your work).

Where I used to work the fire door went out onto a river bank and we had a picnic table and chairs out there, often saw kingfishers, dippers and otters but never when I had my camera ready of course!

C'mon Gaz - spill the beans: Camera, lens, shutter speeds, hours spent waiting etc. They're lovely pics - we have a Kingfisher buzzing round the workplace but I'll never get shots like that. I'm trying to photo all the wildlife there for an electronic photo frame display on the shop counter - my current challenge is to get a decent shot of a dragonfly in flight but they don't half shift. I saw it take a moth in mid-air the other day.

There may be hope - I have a Canon 7D too. Now to find the talent...

Terrific pictures Gaz (y)
Went to Oxford today to see our granddaughter in her first sports day. Saw some beautiful Red Kites. Wish I had a good SLR to capture them. ;)

Thanks for the info Gaz. I got a close-up of a Mayfly a few weeks ago (fast shutter required there) - I'd rescued it from a puddle and put it on a fence post to dry out so I took a few pics. As soon as it was sorted, it took off, flew around a bit, located the puddle again and did a Kamikaze dive straight into it. No wonder they don't live very long.

As Puddleduck said you must enter the Countryfile competition your photos are amazing.
My father was into photography and after retiring from the police force he retired to SW Scotland and fulfilled his dream and worked freelance for a local paper he too took some amazing photographs of birds and animals. I have a few of them my favourite one being of a highland calf which went in the papers annual calendar. I just wish I had inherited his talent.
