We use a board that has carpet on it I also use it as a headboard when turning the dining room area into a bed.

as you say gives one a bit of time to put the dogs leads and harnesses on before leaving.
and restricts there view a little for seeing other dogs.

Fab idea. I’m looking for something also for the same job. Did it fit perfect or did you have to trim it on the sides?

Brilliant, thank you. I’ll go for a look tomorrow 😀

Pippa is quite happy behind a bit of expanding wooden trellis in the doorway. She doesn’t bother it and will sit and watch things outside!

We just close the flyscreen.

It would take extreme provocation to make them go out without permission anyway, something like a fox, squirrel or cat.

A friend and fellow funster has a metal gate for this very purpose. It concertinas when not in use and is very neat. Expensive though. Perhaps newfpark can supply more details.

Knowing the power and strength of a Fred, and most of them have a placid nature.
I think he will just surprise everyone and just sit there watching the world go by until he's allowed out.

I have an adapted metal baby gate, used them for the last few campers and they work well, anything weaker wouldn't be safe to use to keep our in especially Minky who would get through anything else, not from being vicious to attack etc but just loving being outside.

Yeah right😁😁 I would have to put 1/2” plate to stop Dolly (avatar) getting out if owt went past, might have to beef it up if there was cats outside🤣🤣

Just in case newfpark doesn’t get back to you soon I can tell you she has 2 Italian Spinone’s and they are rather large!!!

I have 2 Italian Spinones one 45kg and one 36kg. They are not escape artists
Thanks! My gsd x poodle is 45kg already at 10 months, so I don’t know if it would be strong enough. I will ask the manufacturer as it’s not stated on their website. I don’t know if he would try to get through something like that as it is at least a physical barrier.

Personally I'd be rather wary of using that for a strong dog, even a smallish one, if you look at the wire and connectors they'd take a bit of a bash but I wouldn't expect them to hold back a very determined large dog.

We had Romy, a 25kg cross Staffie/greyhound, and although she wasn't one to try to 'escape' from the MH at least I knew if she tried the strong metal baby gate which I adapted would certainly have kept her in, not so sure about the 'concertina' one.

My 3 hooligans are happy enough to stay in most of the time. However one could push through most gates and the other two would easily go over a 3 ft tall gate without touching it. So I have made a wooden gate that sits into the step and is 4ft tall. When not in use the way it is made allows it to fold down to 10in wide by 6ft long

What worries most is our blind girl getting loose and getting into bother. The boys don't run off, but she is a crazy free spirit

We bought one of these at one of the shows. Really solid, no Velcro necessary but not as cheap as the B&M

We bought a sheet of Perspex from b n q. Not cheapest, reasonably sturdy. Cut out a hole for the handle. Allows the girls to see out. It slots into the gaps between the door and frame. I T keep the cat and dogs in, does however get marked easily
