Keeping the MH warm

Hi everyone, I just bought a secondhand MLT 580 4x4 for the upcoming winter season, can anyone recommend a setup for external thermal screens. Possibly Polar out of Telford, but I’m based abroad and importing stuff can be a bit of a pain these days.

You're better off starting a new thread..

But, in the absense of a new thread, does your MLT 580 have Truma blown air heating with a vent blowing onto the windscreen?
Like our Exsis-i 580.

If so, you may not need an external screen. We have never needed such a screen on the Exsis-i.

It was interesting seeing our replies from 10 years ago.🤣
Good air circulation and heat close to pipes is still required unless climate change now means you can now go skiing in an Elddis.🙂

The passenger seat has a duct in the support box, no air coming out of the vents though. I’m keen to get a cover as it is bound to cut down on the gas consumption

We are planning to hire a motorhome to head over to Austria in December to ski. It would will be our first winter trip so a little nervous about keeping the MH warm. Any tips or suggestions when picking the hire MH or what we need to plan would be amazing. More hire sites don’t say much about winter trips.

Don’t worry about it. You will be fine.

When choosing the hire motorhome you'd be best opting for a continental brand from one of the nations heavily into winter sports as their motorhomes are generally built to cope with Alpine winter conditions. Eg motorhomes from Germany, France and Italy will be a far better bet than those from UK manufacturers.
Also, make sure you have propane gas bottles rather than butane as butane is no good in low temperatures.
