Hi need help, I have some heater pads for my fresh and grey water tanks but apart from foam insulation for pipes, what are the thin wire heaters called for rapping around pipe work to stop them freezing and any ideas where I can get them from. Not an ebayer though
thanks

Pipe trace heating. You can get it from Amazon. Mostly 240 volt so can only be used when on EHU.

I am afraid not.

Even with that battery and solar, this time of year the panels won’t give much and anything that heats consumes a lot of power. All you will do is flatten the battery.

120watts is about 10amps. Even with your battery it will be flat in 10 hours.

Ok fair enough, thanks. I suppose there is nothing that uses less wattage, my understanding of Watts Amps etc is minimal

You need to know that heat means Watts which means Amps.

Its possible that a lower wattage element would do the job but you need to research the market to see if anything exists.

Its not viable to use a non winterised van off grid with trace wires and heating pads. You either need hook up or change your van for a more suitable one
