and then for something completely different, Cardboard canoe race Serpents tail ti Llangollen town, below the weir

Complete with emergency cardboard spray deck when we saw the river was in flood,

Setting off on the flat section at the top, very very wobbly before it took on some water in the bottom fall then it was a lot better for the 20 minutes down to the town falls.
It has to be said very few made it all the way down the Serpents Tail let alone the town falls.
And then we spent too long in the pub and couldn't be bothered to put the tent up so slept in the Eistedford field under the plastic bag the canoe was wrapped in, it didn't go back hoe with us
I am slightly more sensible now, but also slightly boring.

yes remember them i was only div 3 then i think
done thatAfter Llangollen you'd go under the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct - that would be a spectacular sight.
There's a tidal bore on the Dee Estuary - I know somebody who surfed it some years ago.
The weir at Chester can be seen in Streetview here - it was for the old mills on the other side of the bridge.

might se if @funflair is up to riding it dependent on a good moon billThe tidal bore on the Dee is quite something, Ed and I were cycling along and suddenly heard this loud noise it was the boar coming along the river, I keep meaning to catch another one but haven't yet.

Hi @Gooney, we were by the landing pad were they send the air bus wings down the river to Mostyn, it was very loud and quite a big tidal wave you could have easily have surfed it. I think we were really lucky as good ones only happen a few times a year. Another thing I keep saying I would like to do is see the A380 Air bus wings floated down the river.
