Kayaking in Provence (1 Viewer)

Hi all
Anyone been or know any good sites in Provence with direct access to kayaking

hiring or your own canoe ?

Just outside Provence you have the Ceze, Ardeche, Eyrieux, Drome, Isrere, but I dont think, off the top off my head there are many canoe hire places on rivers in Provence though some great canyoning.
I cant remember if you can canoe the Verdon after the gorges or whether it is just white water rafting (or experienced canoeists) but above the gorges you have lac de st croix and there are several other man made lakes of superb quality for a paddle

Do you need any kind of license in France to kayak on their rivers or canals like we do in the U.K. on most inland waterways
