Several years ago while wild camping in Spain I heard a manhole cover being lifted at midnight and a cassette emptied. On checking the following morning the manhole cover had an electricity symbol in the casting and the surrounding vans were Dutch and German. I remember feeling guilty when we left later even though it was nothing to do with us.

They were probably taken 'short', both before and after emptying
