Kalingrad

I'm thinking of a trip to Latvia/Lithuania in my motorhome.
I see on the map that I could drive through Kalingrad (part of Russia surrounded by the EU ) The only info I can find so far is from 2012.
Have any members more recent experiences of the procedures and reception?

Well you can't get an e visa which is a new thing if you are from the U K so you would have to go through all the rigmourole of getting a full one
