I'm a newbie
Just purchased a motorhome for the first time yesterday and thinking well he goes nothing. I went with Comfort insurance and it's a TALBOT AUTOTRAIL CHEYENNE RICO MOTORHOME 1994 reg. It's quite old but it is 25000 miles on the clock. Going to be collecting it later tomorrow and see what take it for a test drive camp over the weekend. I will be having to learn a new way of life now and get my head around how everything works. Does anyone have tips and advice or wisdom they can impart with regards to the Talbot motorhome? It's quite old and I drove it around for a test drive and the engine sounded sweet.

Since 2009 with motorhomes several caravans then tents before that.
Looks nice , clean and tidy . And very solidly made unlike a lot of new vans around . Get yourself to a meet/rally As oldmo says, and join the Talbot owners club too. I'm sure you'll have many happy trips in your new toy.
Welcome to the forum too.

Looks a nice clean & tidy van.
My suggestion is to take it out and play with everything to familiarise yourself.
I went away for a night on my own on my first outing and glad I did, as I couldn't get the electric or heating to work. I could see the vapour from my breathing it was that cold. Would have put my wife off for good. Following day, I realised how it all worked!
You make mistakes which aren't funny at the time but are hilarious to look back on afterwards, so just go and enjoy yourselves in it.
You'll get plenty of advice on here if you get stuck with owt

Looks great!
The Talbot owners club was a great suggestion , I used it a lot when I had my 94 Hymer based on the same cab.
It's actually a Mk 1 Fiat Ducato so parts aren't difficult to find.
Welcome to lots of FUN(y)

Looks a very well looked after van, with only 25,000 miles on the clock it's barely run in, equates to just over 1,000 miles per year. get out and enjoy it.(y)

Looks lovely! We have only had a motorhome since September and so I'm not really qualified to give any advice other than this: you have joined the friendliest, most helpful and altogether the most awesome group of people on the planet so whatever happens on your travels you'll have fun! And I adore Totnes - I grew up in Brixham!
Welcome to the funny farm!

newbie, but was caravanner for 20 years
Welcome and well done, looks tidy. After 20 years tugging, buying our motorhome was the best thing we did. We have had 25 nights away already this year, with 3 booked next weekend. Would never have been so spontaneous tugging

I am sure many will agree that buying your first van is so exciting.

We bought ours last year and we love it and just look forward to our trips.

You will have great fun - enjoy
