Just for a change and because we were in no hurry to get home to blighty we decided to set the tomtom on no motorways on our return from the Black Sea Bulgaria. We covered the 2500kms to Gravelines without going on a motorway once. I knew it would be an epic journey when the old tomtom took almost 2 hours to download the route, but we thoroughly enjoyed the trip and saw where most of the European money is going (its not into the infrastructure). A bit of info for those that use Gravelines air. On route to the aire as you follow the canal, with the canal on your right is a red restaurant on your left. You can overnight free of charge across the road by the side of the canal. The food is superb. They are open lunchtimes only except Fri and Sat when they open for dinner. The address is La Scierie, Route de Gravelines, Saint-Folquin.
PS, When ordering desert ask for the ensamble, a bit of everything.
