Hi to everyone on this great site,

We have just bought our first motorhome and we can't wait to get it sometime this next week hopefully. Hired one once to go to Glastonbury - loved it and now we have our very own. Its an older lady - 1994 RV Allegro Bay but seems in great shape so its just fine for us to start with as we have 2 teenagers and 2 large dogs!

Looking forward to learning the ropes and having some great times.

Welcome from another RV owner

Welcome to MHF... Nice to see another RV join our strong group of motor home owners.. We have a fair number of RV's on the forum. Need questions answered? This is the place to find out... Well worth the £10 subs we pay after the free period ... Save that over and over in club discounts or information.

Look forward to reading your post.

ALL those parts you will want

Give me a p.m. (private message if you want) I can let you have the details of the various American parts suppliers in the UK that most of us use.

You can normally get most items off the shelf in the UK these days, if not them come in fairly past.. a good book is the RV accessories book, best part of 1,000 pages of goodies.. can be obtain from some of the yank parts people.

Two to start with:

Duncan... www.startspangeledspanner.co.uk he is based in Lincolnshire .. is a member of MHF and has a workshop and is often at shows with his mobile parts shop.. good reliable dealer, very knowledgeable and helpful on most subject RV... good mail order.

Otherwise there is Darren and Martin they run RVSPARES .. hunt them down on Ebay .. American RV Motorhome and a lot of the parts for sale are from them.. you can deal direct with them, and they have a massive stock.. based at the Cheltenham Bus Park in Cheltenham, they send most things overnight.. I have accounts with carriers and cannot get items from the USA to me as cheap.. good for the silly parts as well as the bigger items.

There are other that are just as good but to many to list here.

What a great welcome

:thumb::Smile::thumb: Thanks to you all. Been to pay deposit on our RV today - it needs a little TLC in places inside but other than that its marvellous. It is arriving on Friday and I can't wait to get busy giving it a makeover!

Our daughter (Lynyrd Skynyrd fan) will be very impressed that it states on the outside that it comes from Alabama!

Thank you for all the tips - I'm sure that we will make use of them all.
