i have 2 x 12volt 16" television's (now got a 23" ) i have taken out of previous vans in the wardrobe , one a Technika and one a Cello both good and never had a problem with either, Had an Avtex which was in a Hymer i had and left that in the van when i sold it as wasn't impressed with it. Kettle & toaster if you are plugging into electric a cheepo from one of the supermarkets does me .Also carry a whistling kettle for the gas rings and if you have an oven with a grill you don't need anything else on gas .Dont buy one of the toasters they advertise in the camping shops they are all crap. Radio try Halfords.

We have a low power electric kettle and a low power toaster. Both can only be used on EHU. can't remember the makes but they are widely available on Amazon and no doubt your local camping store.

And lastly, welcome aboard.

Congratulations and welcome.

TV in classifieds;

And " mirror cast " handy when abroad. As is the "firestick " get a good data plan, unlimited, [ mostly in reality 25gb] but enough for an hour or so's tv catch up or drama show per night.

For a low power kettle to use on hook-up, you can get full size rated at circa 1,000 watts.

Obviously it takes a bit longer to boil than your kettle in the kitchen at home, but they get there in the end. :giggle:

Good luck with the new van. (y)

Here's a 1 litre cordless 830 watts - £12.89

Or a full size 1.7 litre cordless 900 watts - £23.95

I wish id known about this forum when i got our first motorhome, we once sat on a ths at ripon racecourse in the dark because we thought 12v meant you just plugged things in as normal and switched to 12v and everything worked as normal,tv kettle etc lol

Low wattage toaster and kettle.
Only use when you have EHU.
Get a gas whistling kettle, which we use more than the electric (and it's faster)
Ensure you can do toast in the grill.

TV, for us, is strictly for when we have EHU

Hello and welcome, use gas hob for kettle, we have a toaster and use it if on EHU or gas grill. WRT tv we have one that works on 12v and 240 EHU when we’re plugged in, we’ve had it for a few years and works fine. The make is Manta and was probably cheap.
