Hi peeps, this forum looks spot on!

Me and my Haidee have just bought a 1989 Fiat Ducato Elddis.
Its a 2.5ltr and bigger than our flat. :0)
I have a few questions but never really use forums so not sure on protocol..

*where can I get a workshop manual from?
*how easy is a cam belt/waterpump to change?
*How do you work the fridge as we have a spark but no blue light?

Anyways that will do for now. Hope you're all fine and dandy.
TIA

Welcome to the house of fun. Most of your questions will already have been answered if you do a search. If you get the model numbers of the appliances and search on the net for the respective manuals or just search with the make and model number and add problem, you should find lots of links to help sort you out, enjoy ...

There is a dedicated website for vehicles of that era. Talbot Owners Club. You get all the answers there.
I use it regularly

Hi, Welcome & Hope you enjoy the MH life.

Stupid question if going click is there any gas in the cylinder and is it turned on and is the isolation tap for it on and does the hob work.

Not sure what manuals you need but as said above, most can be downloaded from manufacturers websites under support headings.

However if you search this site there is a wealth of info and advice. Sometimes if unable to find an answer post a quick question, sure to be someone who remembers or has a solution.

Hiya and welcome to the fun house. 🤪

Our first 'proper' MH was an Elddis Autoquest on the 1.9td, lovely and well built, it didn't have power steering so we eventually changed it for a Swift Suntor 590RS with the same layout ... what a load of poo that was!

What fridge have you got?

Just a thought, you can still buy 'The Motorcaravan Manual' which gives info about how stuff works etc - they were written by John Wickersham (RIP) and very informative; there were at least 2, if not 3, versions (updated) so one might be more applicable to your vehicle.

Have a shuftie on the web/ebay to see if you can pick one up as it will prove useful to have to hand as a 'newbie'.

Ref the gas,
Turn it on at the gas drum (anti clockwise)
There will be an isolator valve between the drum and the fridge, ensure it is turned on.
Then turn your gas control on the fridge to around No 3 and push it in and hold it in,
Switch on the igniter/spark.
The gas pipe may be empty so hold the dial at No 3 in the pushed in position for up to a minute.
It should now light

There was no official workshop manual for that period van. Look on ebay for the Peter Russek one
